A Night to Remember....

YOUR VOLUNTEER HELP IS NEEDED

Think about 2010..... 

 You can help by:

  • making a donation – see ‘Fundraising’ page.
  • helping at fundraisers such as hot dog sales and co-op gas club cards.
  • volunteering for a shift at Dry Grad – June 26th, 2009. First or second half of the night, and for those keeners you can even volunteer to work both shifts.

Bag Check

  • Setup bag check area and provide a bag check service for participants so they do not need to carry their items with them during the event. Participants can gain access to their bag through out the night.

Clean-up

  • Empty garbage and recycling, pickup litter, cleanup spills during the event.

Decorations

  • We will need help in decorating the night before and the day of the event at Beban Park.

Entertainment

  • Helping in entertainment area ( you do not have to sing and dance:)

Fundraising

  • Staffing car wash or  hot dog sales events before drygrad (some Saturday's)
    Offering to help gas custmoers of Co-op Gas Station with stamping of DryGrad Co-op Gas Club cards. 
    In the month of May helping with long weekend Fireworks event Parking.

Kitchen

  • mostly putting food on trays and keeping serving area / food areas stocked during event.

Prizes

  • Collection, organization, purchasing, and handout of prizes.

Publicity

  • School newspapers, posters, local newspapers, radio, etc.

Security

  • Patrolling inside and outside DryGrad area (setup of perimeter fencing before event and pull down at finish)

Transportation

  • Driving and loading rental van with items used at DryGrad event from storage locker and supporters.
Treasurer

  • Filing society annual report, Prepare budget, Recording deposits and cheques, Preparing statements and reports for monthly meetings, Grant in Aid application.
  • Getting deposits from schools for students, having student list for checkin attending night of event.
  • verify attendees have paid, confirm cash prize winners (address etc.), send out cheques for cash prizes.    

Volunteers coordination

  • Phoning volunteers, stuffing Grad "goodie" bags, making name tags for volunteers to wear at event.

Break down and Final Cleanup

  • Begins early Saturday morning (5 am), dismantle of decorations, loading van for return items to storage locker, general tidy and pack items for return to sponsors via rental van.     

You do not have to be a grad or grad parent to help, our volunteers include

·        parents of younger students

·        parents of previous grads 

·        aunts, uncles, grandparents

·        teachers and other staff from elementary & secondary schools

·        grade 10, 11 students can help at fundraisers
